For this list, I’m separating the venues into three categories: Downtown Austin Wedding Venues, Modern Austin Wedding Venues, and Hill Country Wedding Venues. There truly are so many gorgeous wedding venues in the Austin area. Maybe you’re looking for a hill country setting with lodging for the weekend or a cool downtown spot for an intimate group of friends and family. After over a decade of being an Austin wedding photographer, I’ve been to every venue in the Austin area and know which ones are visually stunning and consistently exceed my clients’ expectations. I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve had guests at weddings tell me this venue is the absolute most gorgeous venue they’ve ever been to! And it’s so true. Austin has the most spectacular venues. This is my comprehensive list of the absolute best wedding Austin wedding venues for 2023!
*Note: I’m using the phrase “Downtown Austin” to mean within 50 miles of the downtown Austin area and “Hill Country” to mean any area outside of that. Let’s dive in….

Downtown Austin Wedding Venues
Laguna Gloria
3809 W 35th St, Austin, TX 78703

Barr Mansion
10463 Sprinkle Rd, Austin, TX 78754

South Congress Hotel
1603 S Congress Ave, Austin, TX 78704
South Congress Hotel is both perfectly trendy and centrally located. This hotel is right on South Congress Avenue, but having a wedding here isn’t like any of your other typical hotel weddings. What makes this hotel special is the luxurious and modern decor. The ceremony space is outdoors and minimal and the reception area is gorgeously draped and luxurious. Another special feature of this hotel is the super cool bar and pool area with lounge areas to work on that perfect wedding weekend tan.
Mattie’s
811 W Live Oak St, Austin, TX 78704
Originally a 1916 farmhouse on 23 acres of green pastures, Mattie’s is located in the heart of South Austin. This farmhouse was converted into a restaurant in the 1940’s and most recently a wedding venue. Don’t be surprised if you have a white peacock as a surprise guest during cocktail hour.
Malverde
400-B W 2nd St, Austin, TX 78701
Malverde is the event space located above La Condesa. Right in the second street district, you can’t get any closer to downtown. This space is known for it’s super cool artwork, swanky plant filled decor, and delicious Mexican food. Perfect for the couple that is looking for a modern and unique space. Justine’s Secret House
1303 E 7th St, Austin, TX 78702
What’s cooler than cool? Justine’s Secret House. Starting off with an Austin wedding venue website that requires a secret password just to view, this venue provides all the moody French Victorian vibes that their restaurant (Justine’s) provides but in a private setting. Located in a very cool and very secret location in East Austin. This venue is perfect for couples wanting an intimate wedding with luxurious and romantic East Austin vibes.
Hotel Van Zandt
605 Davis St, Austin, TX 78701
Hotel luxury in a very Austin way. Hotel Van Zandt offers gorgeous views of downtown and Lady Bird Lake. This venue is perfectly convenient for weddings with out of town guests. It is walking distance to several restaurants and bars. Also offers easy access to the Lady Bird Lake hike and bike trail. Located in the Rainey Street District and can accommodate a larger wedding of up to 500 guests.
Tillery Place
801 Tillery St, Austin, TX 78702
Tillery Place is both hip and centrally located. Nestled within an actual nursery, this space feels both central and secluded at the same time. The grounds feature gorgeous hundred year old oak trees and a cool airstream trailer for getting ready.
Springdale Station
605 Davis St, Austin, TX 78701
Springdale Station is located in East Austin. It is a historic train station but once inside you would never know it. The interior is filled with gorgeous lighting and moody decor. And the outdoor area still has train tracks (non functioning) but makes for a perfectly peaceful ceremony spot. This is perfect for a couple looking for an East Austin wedding venue with flair.
Allan House
1104 San Antonio St, Austin, TX 78701

1102 East
1102 E Cesar Chavez St, Austin, TX 78702
1102 East is perfect for a couple looking for a funky east Austin wedding venue. Located just a few blocks from the bustling east sixth street district, this venue has true east Austin quirk nailed.

Modern Austin Wedding Venues
South Congress Hotel
1603 S Congress Ave, Austin, TX 78704
South Congress Hotel is located in the heart of SoCo. This hotel is both modern and luxurious. It has an outdoor ceremony area courtyard and a swanky indoor reception space. Bonus is that there are plenty of rooms for your guests to stay in for the weekend and only have to walk a few steps back to their rooms after the party is over (or after the after party!). Double bonus is that you may spot Matthew McConaughey in the hotel lobby the way I did once…
Prospect House

You may notice there are a few venues on the list twice here… it’s for good reason. If you asked me what my favorite venue in Austin is, I would say I don’t have a favorite but the truth is this one is my favorite (shhhh…). Prospect House is the definition of a modern Austin wedding venue. Designed by architect, Max Levy, this space is perfect for creative couples who want something a little different. Hotel Van Zandt

The Arlo is Austin’s newest venue located in Dripping Springs and features classic architecture and refined styling. This venue is one of Austin’s larger venues and features a ballroom, a hall, and a lounge, in addition to a gorgeous lawn space perfect for your romantic wedding.

Windemere Farms

Windemere Farms is a 500 acre farm located in San Marcos. This is an excellent choice for equestrian enthusiasts or someone looking for an elegant tented wedding venue with jaw-dropping views of central Texas. While the venue is a working horse farm, it also has a high-end feel that is perfect to indulge your wedding guests. The ceremony space is situated on an overlook with stunning views. And with the tented reception space just a few feet away, guests are sure to have a great time!
Prospect House

Le San Michele

A little bit french and a little bit central Texas, Le San Michele has a french inspired building with lush gardens. Located in Buda, this little gem is perfect for a couple looking for an outdoor venue with patio seating. The twinkle lights throughout the grounds add to the romantic ambience. The Grand Lady

The Grand Lady offers the best of both worlds with a charming historic home and a newly built reception space. You can get ready inside of the historic Victorian era home, have your ceremony right outside, host your cocktail hour in the garden, then walk just a few steps over to the modern hall and have the dance party of your dreams!
Greenhouse at Driftwood

The Greenhouse at Driftwood is an elegant venue with an outdoor feel. The property features a stunning greenhouse with tropicals, native plants, and succulents. A true plant lover’s paradise with a focus on conservation and sustainability. The grounds also have plenty of space for an outdoor ceremony and festive dancing.
Contigo Ranch

Contigo Ranch is self described as contemporary country. This venue is from the same family that owns the Contigo restaurant. I’ve long loved the food and service from Contigo both in the restaurant and catering at weddings. This hill country wedding venue offers lodging and so much peace and quiet. Nestled in Fredericksburg, the ranch has private cabins and epic views of rolling hills. This Austin wedding venue is perfect for couples that are looking for a weekend ranch getting feel for their guests.
Jester King Brewery

If you’ve ever been to Jester King Brewery, you are probably a fan. The brewery is known for it’s beer, wood fired pizza, and laid back vibes. Woodbine Mansion

Located north of hill country in Round Rock, Woodbine Mansion is a Texas historic landmark that has recently been restored and opened as an wedding venue. It has a true southern mansion feeling and is surrounded by elm, pecan, and magnolia trees.
One Eleven East

One Eleven East is another beautiful historic wedding venue, this location has an open loft feel. This space is filled with beautiful brick walls and gorgeous natural light. It’s perfect for guests wanting an indoor wedding as the huge windows bring in tons of light. One Eleven East is the perfect blank canvas for couples looking to create a magical wedding. Retreat at Balcones Springs
