Brooklyn Botanic Garden Bridal Portraits // Maggie

A few photos from Maggie’s gorgeous Brooklyn Botanic Garden portraits. We started at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden and then made our way to Dumbo for a few sunset photos with the perfect Manhattan skyline. How dreamy and glam does Maggie look?! She totally reminds me of Kim Cattrall in the early Sex and the City days. I love this shoot because it was a true collaboration. Maggie was set on doing a few photos at the Botanical Garden and open to any other locations I came up with. I scouted around Manhattan and Brooklyn the day before and came up with Empire Fulton Ferry Park in Dumbo as our second location. The brick buildings and narrow streets have such a beautiful and vintage feel. There are tons of gorgeous locations around NYC but I really wanted to do a juxtaposition of a city location to contrast the garden location. I love that she has portraits in two very different locations but all with the same beautiful feel. It was so nice to explore and play on this bridal shoot a few weeks before her Austin wedding.
Opting for a separate bridal portrait session is an awesome idea if you want to do a different location from your wedding (or city! Let’s go to NYC again, ok?!) also great if you want to experiment with a different look or styling from your wedding day. For Maggie’s wedding day look she opted for a beautiful tulle skirt over her dress and so we did the bridal portraits without the skirt and went for simplicity.
