tropical headshot session // amber

This portrait session of Amber was a combination of a beauty portrait session and business headshot session. Here she is celebrating another year of life, another year of being an incredible female entrepreneur. She is an amazing Austin wedding photographer that I have gotten to know over the last few years. I love the photographs we created, we definitely got a mix of dreamy portraits and Austin business headshots. We started our session with hair and makeup by Lola Beauty in my photography studio followed by a few in studio portraits, and finished with photos in an outdoor location.  This combination of a studio portrait session and outdoor portrait session is perfect if you’re looking to add photos to your social media platforms and website. During her consultation she said she wanted a collection of photos that portrayed beauty and power. I love that she really bared it all and you can see her strength in the photos. Read her words below:

“My right eye is practically blind (I rely on strong contacts and glasses to do my passion). My skin attracts all of the moles. My hair frizzes and poofs and never stays calm. I had braces for 7 years as a kid. I suffer from anxiety and depression that sometimes makes it hard for me to leave my bed. I’ve been recently diagnosed with severe food allergies. I’m also a lover. A fighter. A photographer. traveler. runner. Mama to my baby Scout Jo. And I won’t let any one piece of me define me. My life is so beautiful. For my 33rd birthday I felt the need to be photographed. I didn’t feel great about myself – I had gained nearly 10 lbs, my skin didn’t look great, I was days away from getting tests done to figure out why I’ve feel so out of my skin. But I knew I needed this..to see myself the way I am. I love this body of mine. “- Amber Vickery (photographer)
